My Favourite Portrait! (January)

Ok these are not just headshots or personal branding images. They are portraits of people I have shot over my career for different reasons. Because I am really a portrait photographer and that's what I absolutely love. People. Whether you are sitting behind a desk, on a city street, in the long grass outdoors my goal is to produce an image of you that shows who you are. Sometimes I even surprise myself with the images we produce together, like the image below.

Here is my favroutie image of the month and I hope you love it too.

Introducing Celeste.

The particulars:

Who: Celeste

Why: Celeste had major reconstructive surgery on her face. She had healed and her grandmother bought this session as a gift to her. She wanted to celebrate her recovery and give her some confidence.

Where: Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens, Brisbane

When: 2021

Why do I love this portrait so much?

I love the look and feel of the image it's moody, it fills the screen, Celeste looks so beautiful and comfortable in front of the camera. But I think it's mostly because I knew her backstory before going into the photoshoot. I knew what these photos meant to a young teenager who had undergone difficult surgery. To me she looks strong, confident and beautiful. She was a superstar and I will always love this image.
